The Department of Defense Federal Tuition Assistance (TA) funds are a unique and distinct first payer source of financial aid available to eligible service members.
MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS & RESERVISTS PROGRAM READMISSION -Students will be promptly readmitted to a program if they are temporarily unable to attend class or have to suspend their studies due to service requirements, as outlined in student eligibility: 34 CFR 668.32(f), 34 CFR 668.34. They will return to the same academic status as they had when last attending the school or accepted for admission to the school and applies to any student who cannot attend school due to military service.
Eligible Service members wanting to use Tuition Assistance must receive approval from their Military Service Education Service Officer(ESO) or Counselor prior to registering.

The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 requires educational institutions to make certain disclosures to students using federal military and/or VA educational benefits. The SUNY Financial Aid Plan (FAP) will provide a more in-depth analysis and accurate picture of student cost once the student has filed their FAFSA, completed a SUNY application, and has been accepted by a campus.
