This pathway encompasses two degree directions, liberal arts and teaching degrees in the liberal arts. A liberal arts education provides you with a broad range of knowledge that is flexible and adaptable in almost every job market. This course of study will expose you to a broad range of humanities and social sciences courses that help you develop strong, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to apply critical thinking in real world settings. Subjects in a liberal arts education include English, history, philosophy, and economics, among others.
Becoming a teacher will lead you to a rewarding and fulfilling career. It’s a chance to make an impact that can last a lifetime on your students and community. There is always a need for good teachers with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showing average growth in the field through 2031. SUNY Ulster’s education programs allow you to choose a concentration in one of several subjects.
